Nobody Guidelines
- Nobodies are a bit trickier than humans. Their basic definition is a being that exists as a body and a soul without a heart. Originally they were claimed to have no emotions but this has been proven to be false; they do feel emotions though they have a tendency to be dulled in comparison to what those with hearts would feel. This often creates a sense of dysphoria as Nobodies do retain memories of their Somebody lives and thus can remember feeling more strongly than they do now. Those Nobodies who lack memories of their Somebody life do not display this dysphoria though they tend to start off as being socially awkward, but the only Nobodies that have lacked their memories have been those that existed as the same time as their Somebody. All Nobodies also, so far, have only been shown to have been 'created' through use of a keyblade.
- What does this mean?
- It means, quite honestly, that the race of Nobody is a bit silly at this point. There is little that separates them from a human and the act of their creation is something that is all-but-impossible to achieve with an original character. This isn't to say it is impossible, but staff acknowledges that it's unlikely there will ever be many. Should you still want to play a nobody, here are the guidelines that need to be followed:
- Their creation must happen with the use of a keyblade. Until we have canonically see a Nobody that was created without a keyblade this will not change, but so far the only Nobody creations shown (Roxas, Xigbar, etc.) have occurred when a Somebodies heart was unlocked with a keyblade.
- Original keybladers cannot be included in a character's history. The games make it clear that Aqua, Terra, Ventus - etc. - are the only keybladers in their time and that there is no new keyblader chosen prior to Riku and Sora obtaining theirs. It would be impossible for any original or mysterious figure to attack a person. This means that a canon character must be used and...
- No canon character can be used without their player's permission.
- You must obtaining the okay from a canon player to say that their character attacked someone and unlocked their heart to create a Nobody. Otherwise you cannot play a Nobody.
- These guidelines, as noted before, are rather strict and will make it difficult for a Nobody to be apped. But as canon has slowly made it clear that there is little difference between a Nobody and a Somebody this should not be that great of a loss.
