Character Creation Rules
- Absolutely no original character may be apped as having a keyblade to start with. The only characters that may begin with a keyblade are canon characters.
- Beginner characters - aka the first character you app - MUST be at least 16 or older. Any character after that can be of any age (within reason, of course). The reason for this is the fact that young characters will, generally, have more difficulty in fitting in on a site that is geared toward older characters.
- Characters must be at least 14 to train at the academy. Younger characters may stay there but they would not be allowed to join any classes.
- A starting character must come from a world previously shown in canon. The World That Never Was, The Keyblade Graveyard/Badlands, Castle Oblivion, and End of the Worlds is off limits to this. Traverse Town is an iffy choice as well; remember that it did not exist prior to the fall of Radiant Gardens. Please remember the history of the world your character is from when apping them there. Do not forget that Maleficent took over the Gardens and forced all inhabitants to leave, and do not forget that Leon took all residents of the Gardens back with him when that world was reclaimed.
- When using a canon world (as is required for a starting character) don't forget the history and the point of the world! Character histories that use Neverland as just a background for a 'normal' history - someone who just grew up in London - will not be accepted. That world is meant for Neverland, not for London.
- Abuse of a sexual nature is banned entirely from a character's history prior to the age of 13. In other words, a character may not have been sexual molested in their history if they were younger than 13. Not only does this violate the site's ToS this also is an incredibly touchy subject that staff does not want brought onto the site. We are aware that this type of abuse happens in real life and it is incredibly heartbreaking. This site, however, is not real life and we would rather pretend that such things do not happen.
- Abuse of a sexual nature, as a whole, should be considered banned. Unless you genuinely feel that your character needs to have been molested for their current personality and history to make sense, do not include it. We don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable and this is an issue that, if not handled delicately and properly, often comes off as a heavy-handed attempt to make a character pitiable.
- Other forms of abuse are to be included with caution. Try to make sure that it actually adds to a character's history and that it isn't simply tacked on to make it seem like they suffered through so much.
- Understand that your staffer is extremely well-versed with psychology disorders! Which means either know your disorder forwards and backwards or don't try to app it. When it doubt, go with something generalized.
- Apping canon character is first come, first serve. We don't care how many canons you play. However, remember that we do expect for canon characters to be active.
- Original Characters may not make any reference of a canon character UNLESS that canon is being played and their player okays it.
- Disney canons may be apped. However, they must be from a world currently in play on the site.
- Final Fantasy or The World Ends With You canons that have not been presented in the series may be apped. For their histories, however, they must be treated as Original Characters unless a canon they would want to have a relationship with has already been apped and their player okays their relationship. For example - if you want to app Zell you must treat him as an OC with no knowledge of Leon or Seifer. If Leon has already been apped, however, you can ask their player's permission to include them in your history.
