Personality
★ G E N E R A L: Tao is anything but soft spoken, though he gives his words time to simmer before he just blurts things out. He'd rather make sure what he has to say actually means something before he says anything.. He's more likely to hang around and watch what others are doing before jumping into the conversation and he's more likely to observe what's going on before actually trying to interject any of his own thoughts. He's fairly reserved, and he'd rather not make any real personal connections with people. He's demeanor can often times be mistaken as rudeness, considering his idea of a response is usually a nod or an almost pained looking smile.

HISTORY
★ P U B L I C:
Tao was born in The Land of Dragons, the first child in a family of four. He was the only son, and therefore it was his job to take care of his younger sisters and mother when his father was out. He took on this role proudly, and things went rather smoothly for the family for years. Strange black creatures began to appear though, and Tao nor the people in his village were sure what to do about them, Tao was only eleven, which meant there was very little he could do. Blades went through them, rockets fired through them and they didn't seem that afraid of fire. They killed villagers, and the swarm only seemed to grow bigger and bigger-
And after that there was... nothing? He doesn't remember anything that happened between the swarm of creatures and one day just blinking his eyes and seeming to wake up to... everything being normal again. The people who were dead weren't anymore and it was strange and there was... confusion but it was thought to be the work of a god.
Life returned to normal for the most part. Tao spent most of his time taking care of his sisters and his mother, who was sick and didn't do much on her own anyway. It was a bit of a hassle but he knew where he was needed and that was all that really mattered. Soldiers from the imperial army came through the village, calling the oldest male from each family and inevitably Tao's father was called. There was fear and pride, naturally, but that meant Tao was really going to be alone with his mother and sisters until this was over.
A raid came, suspicious black creatures in tow with the Huns that were flooding through the village. Tao was attacked by the heartless, but escaped by the skin of his teeth. Eventually it was over though and what was left of his village was in tatters, flames crackling in the snow and he only had his sisters left. Another family from their village took Tao and his sisters in.
The Huns were defeated and again the black creatures disappeared from sight, what they were Tao didn't care. They made him feel weak, useless. Tao still did his best to look out for his sisters, and if anything the loss of their parents only strengthened their bond and closeness. He vowed he wouldn't let anything harm them, and it wasn't a vow he took very lightly.
It was years later, now seventeen, during a trip to the Imperial City that Tao saw it. The odd little station that had been built. He didn't know what it was, but he knew that the 'heartless' as they were called were now a permanent threat and he had to always be on the alert. It was tiring, especially since they didn't really die when he used his blade. He was curious though, and upon entering the station there was an odd little message that played, and he found himself intrigued. The academy. It was far fetched but perhaps they would help, or could help, with the heartless. Maybe that was why this station had been built, and maybe they could help him figure out how to protect the people dearest to him. Arrangements were made, and goodbyes were said, but it was short and bittersweet and Tao was gone.
